Who Is Senna?

Senna R. - Born 2008

Senna R. – Born 2008

Senna was born in 2008 and started racing in early 2017 when our local indoor kart racing center, SyKart; allowed him to race.  Senna wasn’t the fastest racer in the beginning but there were a lot of young racers that were competitive enough to keep him wanting to go back and do better.  His first ever league, with only a handful of session to practice with, got progressively better throughout the season.  In his first league he didn’t win any races but he did have a couple of second place finishes and the rest were third or lower.  That didn’t stop him from continuing to want to go back and want to learn the art of racing indoor karts.

Over the 2018 and 2019 we would average going to the track about once or twice a week.  With seat time, practice and little instruction he got better; a lot better.  By the time the spring 2019 SyKart Indoor Racing Series took place, he had already set the junior kart record for that track layout.  Then throughout the series, he won every race and won P1 in qualifying and had the fastest lap with the exception of the last race where he was P2 and didn’t get the fastest lap.  The competition had been studying his racing line and technique on our YouTube channel.  However, he still had plenty of racing tricks up his sleeve to win the race.

Senna plays soccer for a local club team, United PDX and Mountainside High School (JV).  His soccer coaches knows of Senna’s racing skills and also follows racing.  So he has allowed Senna to modify his training schedule to accommodate his racing schedule.  Senna enjoys soccer and there are many similarities that he can take from the pitch to the track, one of which is conditioning, while the other is learning to keep pushing even when you’re down.

During the off season, Senna wrestles varsity for Mountainside High School.  This helps keep his conditioning during the off season with a large focus on neck and upper body strength to handle karting better.

Senna is also fluent in Japanese (speaking, reading and writing) with an N5 certificate from the 5th grade.  He’s been fortunate enough to race at Sport Kart Hana in Nara, Japan.  One could argue that he’s raced internationally.

We will continue to go to the track as long as he keeps it fun and interesting.   He’s learned how to be consistent, timing of his movement, being smooth with his steering and how to keep his momentum.  Discovering what works and what may work, given the right situation and being better with his braking is part of his discovery now.

Junior 2 Kart Racing Sponsorship Proposal 2024

My favorite part of racing is going fast and passing people

This document is a sponsorship proposal for Senna Russnogle and his upcoming kart racing season.  Senna is seeking sponsorship for the 2024 seasons and believes that COMPANY NAME would be a great fit and could help increase your profile in the Pacific Northwest region.  There will be many racers, teams, and events that Senna would like to attend.  We would like to thank you for your consideration and any contribution you can do to support Senna’s racing and potentially getting your name out into the community.

Senna's Overview for the Upcoming Season

Senna will have many goals over the season but oddly enough, winning won’t be the highest priority.  We believe that the main goals for Senna will be to gain experience with racing, develop as a driver, get as much seat time as he can, and learn how to present himself and represent the sponsors who support him.  If he is successful with these objectives then he will naturally move up through the standings and hopefully winning will be a byproduct of those successes.  We believe that having fun will create an environment that will encourage and feed into his successes.

Senna's Racing History

Senna has only been racing for a short time.  However, with very little seat time compared to his competitors, he is right up there with the local talent.  He still has a lot to learn but his improvements are greater than other drivers in his class.  Most of his experience has come from indoor kart racing at SyKart (8205 SW Hunziker St, Tigard, OR 97223).

  • 2017: Spring SyKart Indoor Junior Racing League:  3rd Overall
  • 2019: Spring SyKart Indoor Junior Racing League: 1st Overall
  • 2019: Fall SyKart Indoor Racing League (GT-0): 4th Overall (Note:  Adult League)
  • 2020: All Leagues canceled for COVID-19
  • 2021:  Set the Sykart Indoor Lap Record for the 6.5 hp karts
  • 2022:  Finished 3rd overall in Oregon State Karting Championship Series (OSKCS) with multiple podiums and one win
  • 2023: Set the Sykart Indoor Lap Record for the 6.5-hp karts and Junior Karts (5.5-hp)
  • 2023: To date – Two First Place Wins in LO206 Junior II

He has test-driven out at Pat’s Acres (6255 Arndt Rd NE, Canby, OR 97013) and his times were impressive for the amount of seat time.  He looks forward to many more hours in the seat and will be competitive as long as he sticks to his objectives.  He has been within tenths of the lap record in the rental karts there and is already showing signs of improvement in his own racing kart.

Sponsorship Benefits

Senna’s commitment isn’t just to his training and racing but also to his family, school, and now his sponsors.  COMPANY NAME will be associated with a great community image, promoting a healthy lifestyle and a grassroots motorsport that starts with children in a fun and engaging environment.

As a sponsor, you can expect to be involved with all our community events, functions, and presentations.  We will promote your business through many of Senna’s media outlets, such as the website (www.racingsenna.com and www.racingforbeginners.com), Facebook, Instagram, and any media releases that we have control over.  We will encourage you to attend our races.

Sponsorship Options (for one season or one year)

  • $100 – $499 (Tier 1):  This will get you a link on the page to your website and any other media sites (Facebook, Instagram, blogging, etc.).

    — This helps pay for the costs of some practice time at Pat’s Acres and/or parts and maintenance of the kart itself.

  • $500 – $999 (Tier 2):  This will get you all of Tier 1 plus signage* on the team shirt (this will be laid out in accordance with higher-tiered sponsors as they will have priority on sizing and spacing).  Shirt deadlines will vary but are usually set before the season starts.

    — This will help the same as Tier 1 sponsors but will also help with new tires, part upgrades, and some racing fees.

  • $1000 – $1199 (Tier 3):  This will get you all of Tier 2 plus a higher priority on signage* on the front bumper of the kart in accordance with other sponsors who might have contributed more.  Also, as long as there are no scheduling conflicts, we would be happy to display the kart at YOUR COMPANY events and charities.  If Senna’s schedule allows he will be there to talk about the sport of karting to YOUR COMPANY customers.

    — This will help the same as Tier 2 sponsors but will also help with larger part upgrades, some racing fees, and specialized equipment.

  • $1200 – $2999 (Tier 4):  This will get you all of Tier 3, however, the signage** will be relocated from the front bumper to the center pylon under the race number.

    — This will help the same as Tier 3 sponsors but will also help with part upgrades and some racing fees and more practice time.

  • $3000 – $5999 (Tier 5):  This will get you the same as Tier 4 plus signage** as well as on the left and right side pods of the kart.  Also will look for some signage on the trailer that transports the kart, tools, and various equipment.

    — This will help the same as Tier 4 sponsors but will also help with spare parts, some travel expenses, and more practice time indoors and outdoors.

  • $6000 + (Title Sponsor):  This will have the same as all the other tiers but with the highest priority on signage** on the kart.  There are many potential marketing avenues that could be discussed and approved. (examples would be but not approved upon until noted and signed/dated by both parties: signage on the helmet, signage on the racing suit, Large print/logo on transportation trailer)

    — This will help with the purchase of an updated outdoor kart and potentially other expenses covered and/or not covered in the lower tiers.

*Note that all signage must be approved by Bernard Russnogle.  All logos must be official logos or wording/fonts of your business or agreed upon logos/wording/fonts.  We have the right to remove any logos without reason.  All marketing signage must be supplied by the sponsor.

**Tier 4, Tier 5, and Title Sponsors are open to negotiation on marketing strategies depending on other sponsors’ contributions.

Once again we would like to thank you for your consideration and any contribution you can do to support Senna’s racing and potentially get your name out into the community.
